Gilardino rules out Inter swap
(Soccer365.com) Italy and AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino has rejected reports that he could feature in a swap deal with Inter Milan forward Adriano.
Brazilian Adriano has been omitted from Inter's Champions League squad because of poor form, while Gilardino has failed to reach the level with the Rossoneri he showed at previous club Parma.
However, the 25-year-old Gilardino, a member of Italy's World Cup-winning squad, insisted the rumours were without foundation.
Gilardino said: "I spoke to (club) president Silvio Berlusconi and Dr Galliani (AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani).
"Both of them reassured me and told me my future was with Milan and that I need not worry. I always try my best on the field and I hope for a bit more luck and to score more goals."
