Marquez Makes Boston Trip

(Soccer365.com) Mexico coach Hugo Sanchez has confirmed Barcelona have agreed to release defender Rafael Marquez for next week's match against Brazil.

The Tricolor meet the reigning two-time Copa America champions next Wednesday in Boston, United States.

"The federation's national team committee sent a letter to Barcelona to ask Rafael Marquez to come to play the Brazil friendly exclusively," the boss said.

The defender will join up with his international colleagues on Monday in Boston.

Sanchez also announced Shakhtar Donetsk forward Nery Castillo will not link up with the squad until Thursday due to a nose injury.

"Nery has difficulty in the nose and both doctors of the Ukrainian team and Roberto Rodriguez (the Mexico doctor) are constantly talking to him and following the progress of his injury," the coach said.
