England Fail to Quality for EURO 2008
England fell 2-3 to Croatia at home in Wembley, failing to secure the point needed for qualify for the European Championships next year.
A 10-man Russia advanced to the competition, eeking out 1-nil victory over Andorra.
England fell behind quickly, allowing 2 goals in the first half. A penalty conversion by Frank Lampard and a volley by Peter Crouch off a pass from David Beckham drew the Three Lions level, but only 12 minutes later Croatia claimed the lead for good.

It just won't seem like a legitimate Euro without England. I'm sad to see them not qualify, even though I'm an Italian fan through and through. There is a positive side to England not making it....they have a reason to get rid of McClaren. Granted, they did have injuries but England is a football country with players that could feild two teams for a major competition. The depth is there, the managing........not so much.

I know I posted already, but I'm still in shock. My God, how does England not qualify? Romania and Turkey qualified for heavens sake. McClaren won't be able to get a seat at any restaurants in London, thats for sure.

Forget England, i'm sad Scotland didn't make it, they deserved it more than France!!!,England hurt themselves, their group was not as tough as Scotland's. besides my money is on Italy winning the cup.

It's remarkable that England missed qualifying,Italian fans can a learn from the English fans response, diappointed and mad without a doubt but no rioting or deaths.

The team to watch will be Croatia, but Italy will lift yet another cup.
Posted by: wolfen | November 23, 2007 05:29 PM
It could be 1 of 4 teams... Italy, Germany, France or Spain. Anybodys cup but I hope Wolfen is right.

italians are so 'good' because they're a bunch of divers and the whole world knows it. UP ENGLAND!

dear X, I guess you are so embarassed of your stupid comment that you didn't even attempt to have a name............and soccer drnyc, I hope spain wins something, they always have a top notch team, but somehow never manage to win anything???

Hey X. Italy is actually a great team with great players. There is a reason they have four stars. England, on the other hand, only have 1 star, and they couldn't even qualify for EURO 2008

Hey X, Englands next coach is most likely going to be an Italian. They'll probably get some good results too. I'm sure our four star country can give your one star country some much needed help. I was sad to see England not make it but when I hear rubbish like that, I have to respond.

Yeah dude. Don't hate on Italy. They have a lot of good wins and they don't dive that much anymore. Anyways during the 2006 World Cup the rules for the referees were so strict about diving that it looked like almost every team was diving constantly.
