Adu Keeps Nose To Grindstone

(Soccer365.com) Benfica starlet Freddy Adu reports that he is satisfied with the personal progress being made since arriving from MLS during the summer.

The teen U.S. international has mostly played off the bench this season, but has had some success and isn't ready to rock the boat.

"It is a very competitive environment, and everyone is a good player," Adu told the New York Times. "No one's place is guaranteed."

"You have to come to work every day, and that's what makes you a better player - constant competition."

"Hopefully, I'll get in the starting 11 sooner rather than later," he added. "But right now, I'm happy with my development."

that,s good my son you are still very young
one of these days you will be rank up there with the very best . messi ,kirkic ronaldo and others. trust me you will .

up with messi krcic and ronaldo? no chance. the only one to do that is gonna be Altidore

idk...adu seems more promising than altidore.

this is why i tape games on dvd ( sure.)
oh you forget the u20 world cup in canada 07,
need i say more about adu. sure i could send
you a copy or copys of the games he played in

I think Adu is very promising

Adu has excellent pace, awareness, and ball control, but he lacks the intesity and desire that makes Altidore a much better player.

Adu has a long way to go before you can compare him to ronaldo or messi. Altidore is the same, but Altidore will be better than Adu and that's why no one but Benfica really showed interest in Adu and all the big clubs in Europe want Altidore because he's a reall talent. Real, Barc, Chelsea, and Juventus wouldn't be interested if he wasn't that good. Because of who is wanting Altidore is why he is better than Adu.

To honestly think either Adu or Jozy will be as good as Cristiano Ronaldo or Leo Messi is ridiculous. These are two of the best footballers in the world right now, its absurd to think Jozy Altidore or Freddy Adu can reach that level yet. It's just not feasible. I think both of them will be very good players in their own rights however.

adu is brilliant on the pitch but is still over rated. he is surviving in europe but is not as skilled as everyone first thought. altidore is much more useful of a player. there may be a day when altidore is up there with messi, ronaldo, and kaka but adu will never be that good
