Jozy Altidore Reveals Reading Bid
(Soccer365.com) New York striker ace Josmer Altidore has divulged that he was close to joining fellow US internationals Bobby Convey and Marcus Hahnemann at Reading last month.
With forwards Kevin Doyle and Leroy Lita mixed up in transfer talk, the Royals were planning to grab the teen phenom - but neither player struck a transfer deal out.
"It was an up and coming club that was interested in me," Altidore told Soccer by Ives. "It looked like it was something that was going to be a good idea for me, but the Red Bulls are where I'm going to be."
"I'm committed to the team and I'm not even worried about what happened."
