Hleb to sign with Barcelona
(Soccer365.com) Belarus international midfielder Alexander Hleb is on the verge of signing for Spanish giants Barcelona after undergoing medical tests on Wednesday.
Hleb, who is currently on the books with Arsenal, is apparently on the brink of a GBP 15 million deal with the Catalan club, expressed his admiration for Barca by saying: "It is a dream. I love this team. I will give my best.
"I have spoken with (Barcelona coach Pep) Guardiola and for me it is very important that he wants me and I will give my best for the team and I want to win everything with Barca."
When asked about his best personal qualities, Hleb said: "I don't want to talk about me. I am going to give my best on the pitch, but it is better that the fans and the coach talk about me."
Hleb has credited his desire to move to the hectic pace of life in London, which he said made him "mentally tired". Should the move go to plan, he will join former Gunner Thierry Henry at the Nou Camp, as well as new signings Gerard Pique and Daniel Alves.
