Queiroz Closing In On Portugal Job
(Soccer365.com) Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's second-in-command Carlos Queiroz is about to be appointed the new Portuguese national team manager according to reports.
Queiroz is the favourite to take over from Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari in the Portugal hot seat.
He said: "Things are being dealt with by officials from the two institutions involved.
"The important thing is for the two institutions to reach agreement."
He added: "From my part, there is not much to say, it needs to be resolved between the federation and United.
"I can say little more than you know at this time. It's out of my hands."
United are unwilling to comment on the possible departure of the former Real Madrid and South Africa boss.
