The Brazil international has been intensely linked with the Blues for most of the off-season following the appointment of compatriot Luiz Felipe Scolari at the helm of Stamford Bridge.

Milan have furiously insisted their star player is not for sale, but reports suggest a 100million euros (78million pounds) deal could yet be brokered between the two clubs before the close of the transfer window.

Kaka, whose current deal at the San Siro runs until 2012, is said to have been left frustrated with the Rossoneri after they refused to allow him to compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

And now the playmaker's agent, Diogo Kotscho, has come out saying the two clubs are still embroiled in talks.

He said: "I spoke with Kaka yesterday (Saturday). We know that the clubs are talking about the transfer, although they have not reached a conclusion yet.

"I think an August transfer is still a possibility, though Kaka will only talk about that when they do a deal.

"He is waiting for a deal and then he will start to negotiate with Chelsea.

"Normally, Milan do not sell their best players. We think they like the proposal, but it is not so easy for them to accept it.

"For now we must just wait and see."
