Lampard Pens New Chelsea Deal
(Soccer365.com) Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has ended months of speculation by signing a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
The England international had been heavily linked with a move away from the Blues in recent months as negotiations over a new deal went on for some time without a successful conclusion.
However, the 30-year-old playmaker has now committed himself to the London outfit effectively for the remainder of his career by penning a deal that will run well into 2013.
The news will come as a major boost to new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari who will be looking to topple Manchester United in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
Former West Ham star Lampard joined Chelsea in 2001 and has gone on to score 71 goals in 247 appearances for the Blues.
