Wenger: Henry Won't Go To Manchester United
(Soccer365.com) Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he cannot see his former star striker Thierry Henry joining Manchester United.
Henry joined Spanish giants Barcelona last year for 16million pounds but after a disappointing year for the Frenchmen at Barca, reports have linked the former Arsenal man with a return to the Premiership.
Having struggled to get a regular first team spot at Camp Nou, and often being played out of position, Henry would possibly favor a move to a big club which would allow him to play regularly up front but Wenger does not believe United would be that team.
The Arsenal boss says the only club Henry would be able to play for in the Premiership is the Gunners and says he does not see much truth in the current set of rumors.
"I don't believe in that," Wenger told the club's official website.
"I don't believe Thierry Henry will come back to England. That is my gut feeling.
"But I think if he comes back to England then he comes back to Arsenal."
United seem certain to sign a striker before the start of the season with Dimitar Berbatov supposedly the lead candidate but Henry not completely ruled out yet.
