Blanco Hangs Up Mexico Boots
(Soccer365.com) Chicago Fire ace Cuauhtemoc Blanco has announced his retirement from international soccer, effective with his cameo appearance in a 2-1 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying win over Canada on Wednesday night.
The 35-year old, who netted 34 times in 101 caps, says he still has plenty of gas left in his club tank.
"It was my own decision," Blanco told reporters. "I've always said that you have to retire on time, and I'm leaving with the love from the fans."
"I made this decision and I'm not changing it for anything on the world."
"There is still more from me," he declared. "I want to play a few more years in the U.S., and as you know, I want to come back to play six months with (Club) America."

no, if he still wants to play he should give his last yrs to the fans that put him where he is. he is a legend in the mexican leaugue, but he is tryin 2 cross over to the mls. why? who the f..k knows. theres much better soccer in the mexican league then in the mls. plus he will never get americans as excited to watch him play as los piojos. but he's still the one of the best in THE WORLD. if u dont agree with that statement then u havent seen many of his games, or ur jelouse of his skill. the next temoc is in Hickory,NC. his name is francisco villa.
