Arsenal Expects Turkish Test
Robin van Persie has first-hand experience of the hostile Fenerbahce crowd and he has urged his Arsenal team-mates not to let it affect them.
The North London side will face Fenerbahce on Tuesday in a Champions League Group G encounter at the Sukru Saracoglu stadium, and van Persie who has faced the challenge with Feyenoord accepts it will be a tough trip.
"It will be really tough. I experienced it a few years ago and the fans there are amazing," said the Dutchman, who scored his sixth goal of the season in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Everton.
"It was really aggressive, but that is their style. You have to deal with the atmosphere. It is not nice but I think if you play for Arsenal you have to adapt and just play your game.
"It will be a good test for us and I will enjoy the game."
The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger knows it will be important to silence the Turkish fans early-on in the game.
"I have been involved in many games in Turkey. What is important is that you always have on the pitch the potential to quieten the supporters," said the Frenchman.
"That is down to how well you play and how much personality you show, and this is down to us - so I do not think it will be a problem."
