Drogba Lost Passion for the Game
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba admits he has lost some of the passion he had for football this season.
"This summer, I no longer had a head for football, I'd completely lost the fire" he told France Football magazine.
"I felt completely extinguished. For the first time in my career, I'd lost the passion for football. I was lost."
The Ivory Coast international says he also understands why team-mate Nicolas Anelka has been prefered to start ahead of him in recently."For the moment, I can only keep quiet," he added.
"It is not because I have been here for more than four years that I have a right to make demands to be in the starting line-up.
"At the moment, there's a guy who is hot and racking up goals. I must wait my turn."
However, the 30-year-old Drogba also feels that manager Luiz Felipe Scolari should combine him with Anelka in attack more often.
"I have always said that I was happy that Nicolas came to Chelsea but I still cannot understand why managers are afraid to put us together," said Drogba.
