Arena Laughs Off Owen Talk
Los Angeles Galaxy boss Bruce Arena has responded with sarcasm at the thought of signing Newcastle superstar striker Michael Owen.
With Landon Donovan looking more and more like a Bayern Munich buy, various reports linked the England forward with a Major League Soccer move last week.
"I can promise you we have had zero contact with him, so there's probably zero percent accuracy in that report," Arena told Sports Illustrated before turning sly.
"You can't react to every press report; Owen, Del Piero, they'll all fitting beautifully under our salary cap," he cracked.
"Is there anything about me in these rumors, Chelsea or anyone? I'm hoping for a Ronaldinho or Messi rumor - That would be nice."
