Beckham Can Only Wait And See

Beckham is still hopeful of a move to AC Milan from MLS side LA Galaxy but admits that there is nothing he can do to make the deal go through.

LA Galaxy, who loaned Beckham to the Italian side during their off-season, had said that the Italian giants had not put forward an acceptable offer by the deadline last Friday, and that Beckham would be returning to America after his loan spell at Milan had come to an end on 9 March. But Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani recently dismissed the comments as a tactic to rush the deal.

"We'll have to wait and see," Beckham said after his first Milan derby which finished 2-1 in favour of league leaders Inter-Milan.

"I have enjoyed playing on the pitch and my performances and it has gone well for me. But there is nothing I can do. It is kind of out of my hands."

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder was taken off 10 minutes into the second half with a minor hamstring injury.

"It was great, a great occasion and one of the biggest games in football and the atmosphere was incredible.

"It is up there with both the derbies in Manchester and Madrid.

"These are the biggest games and you have got to enjoy them. I am just a bit disappointed to have come off injured and that we have lost."
