Manchester United accept Real Madrid's £80m for C Ronaldo

Manchester United have accepted an £80million bid for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid and he will now travel to Spain for transfer talks.

Ronaldo has long been a target for the Spanish giants, whose president

Florentino Perez vowed earlier this week to do "everything possible" to take the 24-year-old to the Bernabeu.

A statement on from Manchester United on Thursday morning read: "Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of £80million for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.'

"At Cristiano's request - who has again expressed his desire to leave - and after discussion with the player's representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player.

"Matters are expected to be concluded by 30 June. The club will not comment until further notice."

what a fantastic money n he deserve.............

I for one am glad United sold him. Ron, Ronnie, Ronaldo or whatever you choose to call him is of course a very good player. As a person he's at best as a$$ with no class at all. He is selfish and full of himself & I wish United would have unloaded him much sooner but at least they were able to get a good price for the diver. As far as the history of United goes Ronaldo will never go down as an iconic United great. He will be remembered for what he really is which is nothing more than a spolied brat. I hope some defender breaks one of his legs' next season if not both.
