Ronaldo relishing Real freedom

Cristiano Ronaldo believes he can use the greater freedom he has at Real Madrid to become an even better player.

The Portuguese winger was named European and World Player of the Year during a successful spell with Manchester United but insists there is still room for improvement.

Having left Old Trafford for the Bernabeu in a record-breaking move over the summer, Ronaldo has made an excellent start to life with his new club and thinks he can flourish further under manager Manuel Pellegrini.

"You feel more pressure at Madrid but I love that, it drives me on," Ronaldo is quoted as saying in The Sun.

"My coach Manuel Pellegrini is clearly different to Sir Alex Ferguson. In fact I'm much more free here, free to roam around the pitch in certain matches.

"Not only will I use that to become the same player I was at Old Trafford but even better. I feel like a new-born baby - I'm reborn.

"Just because I won everything with United and was voted Ballon D'Or and World Player doesn't mean I've reached the top.

"In fact, I feel like my career is just starting."

I hope somebody ends Ronaldo's career by breaking his leg. I also hope madrid crash out of Champions League.
