Casillas curses 'unjust' Clasico defeat

Goalkeeper Iker Casillas claims the 1-0 defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico was 'unjust', and believes Real Madrid did enough to earn a draw.

The Catalans took all three points courtesy of a thumping second-half Zlatan Ibrahimovic volley, five minutes after coming off the bench, to send the Camp Nou into raptures.

Real were left cursing missed chances after their counter-attacking style opened up Barca on numerous occasions, especially in the first half when Cristiano Ronaldo could only fire straight at Victor Valdes with the goal at his mercy.

Barca captain Carles Puyol was inspired with three last-ditch blocks helping to preserve the hosts' lead after midfielder Sergi Busquets was sent off close to the hour mark for two bookable offenses.

"The defeat in Barcelona was unjust," Casillas said. "We have created the best chances. The chance for Cristiano Ronaldo in the first half was decisive.

"If Real obtain the lead then the situation would have been different. We deserved a draw.

"Barcelona capitalized with a great strike by Ibrahimovic. Now Barca is the leader in the table but La Liga is a very long season."
