Altidore keen to stay in England

Striker Jozy Altidore has hinted that he would like to remain at Hull after his loan spell with the Tigers expires at the end of the season.

Altidore, who is on a season-long loan from Villarreal, finally opened his Premier League account in the 2-1 win over Manchester City on February 6, but despite not having found the net on a regular basis, the American international has impressed during his time at the KC Stadium.

"I want to be here," Altidore told the Sunday Mirror. "England is a great place to play football, and the Premier League is the best league in the world. I am sure any footballer given the opportunity to ply their trade in this country would jump at it."

Hull are believed to have the option of making Altidore's move permanent for £6.5 million.
