Title Defended

A complete and steady effort earned the Germans their second consecutive World Cup title. Birgit Prinz and Simone Laudehr knocked in goals in the 2-0 victory over Brazil, who failed to find net with some quality chances. Brazil hit the post twice and Marta had a penalty saved by German keeper Nadine Angerer. In the third place game, USA defeated Norway 4-1.
