Song Sweet For China

(Soccer365.com) After a day of draws on Tuesday, China, Brazil, Norway and Australia all won in Wednesday's Women's World Cup action.

Xialia Song is music to the ears of the 50,800 Chinese at Wuhan Sports Center after she knocked in an unstoppable game winner as China defeated Denmark 3-2 on Wednesday evening.

The shot was even sweeter considering Denmark had erased a 2-0 deficit moments earlier off a Catherine Paaske Sorensen header.

With the win China extends their undefeated record in World Cup group stages while the result ups the Danes run of consecutive defeats at the World Cup to seven.

After taking a one goal advantage to the break, Brazil opened the floodgate on their way to a 5-0 win over New Zealand. Marta, FIFA Women's World Player of 2006, led the way for the Samba Queens with a brace.

The win was the second largest for Brazil in World Cup action.

Norway erased a 1-0 first half deficit to defeat Canada 2-1. After an evenly played first half, the Scandinavian side took control in the second. Ragnhild Gulbrandsen leveled matters in the 52nd minute setting up captain Ane Stangeland-Horpestad for the game winner in the 81st.

The win denied Canada coach Even Pellerud a win over his former side, who he lead to the World Cup title in 1995.

After failing to win in the previous nine matches, Australia scored a 4-1 win over Ghana to claim the three points. The win was especially sweet for the Matilda’s as The Black Queens had denied Australia in 1999 and 2003.

Sarah Walsh, De Vanna and Garriock helped Australia to a 3-0 lead and substitute De Vanna sealed the win after Ghana’s Anita Amankwa briefly gave the African side hope.
