Washington Freedom "Keep the Dream Alive"

WUSA photo March 4, 2004 -- In a grassroots effort to continue to promote women’s professional soccer, the Women’s United Soccer Association’s (WUSA) Washington Freedom will hold several exhibitions in the spring of 2004, including matches against the University of Louisville (March 26), University of Cincinnati (March 28), and Xavier University (March 28). Additional Freedom spring exhibitions with defending 2003 NCAA champion University of North Carolina and the University of Maryland are also likely. The Freedom will also participate in the 8th annual Kicks Against Breast Cancer tournament at the Maryland Soccerplex in Germantown, Maryland on April 4th at 4 pm.

The University of Louisville women's soccer team will host the 2003 Founders Cup III champion Freedom at Cardinal Park on Friday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available at the U of L ticket office. There will be 3,000 general admission tickets available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. The University of Cincinnati women’s soccer team will host the Freedom and Xavier University in an exhibition game in Nippert Stadium on Sunday, March 28 at 1 p.m. Cincinnati and Xavier will scrimmage each other for one half, and each team will play one half against the Freedom. There will be a 20-minute autograph session following the event. Tickets are general admission and cost $15 and are available via www.UCBearcats.com or by phone at 513-556-CATS.
