Barcelona’s Neymar scores first La Liga goal

Neymar found the back of the net for the first time in La Liga on Tuesday as the reigning champions ousted Real Socieded 4-1.

Playing in his first season after moving from Santos, the tricky, speedy 21-year old winger winger, a crown jewel in soccer-crazed Brazil, a county counting dozens of stars, Neymar got on the scoresheet in the sixth league game of the season after moving from Santos in the summer

He tapped home a fifth minute Alexis Sanchez deflected low cross to set the Blaugrana off and running.

After scoring, the exuberant Neymar pumped the ball into the net two more times with his signature black and bright citrus Nike Hypervenom Phanthom, thrilled to open his La Liga account with what promises to be the first of many goals at the Camp Nou in the famed red and blue Barcelona home shirt from Nike.

The result kept Barcelona perfect start to the La Liga season in tact with 18 points from six matches. Atletico Madrid also has won six of six, and Real Madrid lurks in third with 13 points from five matches.

Neymar now needs needs just 221 more goals to match his otherworldly teammate Lionel Messi, who also scored in the match three minutes after Neymar’s strike, and 250 more tallies to reach the all-time record of Telmo Zarra, an absolute force during the 1940s and 1950s with Atletico Bilbao.
