Following the trend of all-black away and third kits (similar to what we have seen with Manchester City, Brazil’s national team, Borussia Dortmund and if the rumors are true, Barcelona), Chelsea’s third kit looks as classic as the rest of this year’s collection. The adidas Chelsea third 13/14 jersey features an all-black body that is designed like the home and away shirts. This ClimaCool jersey from adidas has Chelsea’s team crest and adidas logo embroidered on the front, with Samsung as the team kit sponsor screened underneath. This two-tone shirt features silver piping on the torso and sleeves, along with adidas’ signature three-stripes on the shoulder. adidas’ logo, Chelsea’s team crest and Samsung’s logo are also silver. This jersey even looks super high-tech, with a combination of matte and glossy accents on the sides of the torso.
The adidas Chelsea 13/14 third jersey resembles the second kit that Chelsea wore during the 08/09 season, and swaps the white accents for silver ones.
Chelsea’s third 13/14 jersey will be available for sale on Aug. 8 at SOCCER.COM.
Chelsea has had a productive off-season in 2013. Along with the Blues’ tour of Asia, during which the team is traveling to Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, Chelsea have made several acquisitions. The Blues now have Andres Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen, Marco van Ginkel from Vitesse Arnhem and Mark Schwarzer from Fulham FC at Stamford Bridge. In one of the biggest transfer stories of the year, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has not been shy about his desire to make Englishman Wayne Rooney his first-choice striker, should he leave Manchester United. Whether Mourinho’s wish will be granted, remains to be seen.
