Laurent Blanc, PSG's new manager, has one of the best squads money can buy and a sharp new Nike away kit to be excited about this season.

Paris Saint-Germain to launch new Nike Away Shirt

Paris Saint-Germain F.C. will sport a smart shirt new from Nike this year in games away from the Parc des Princes and the French capital.

The shirt launches Tuesday and is the perfect accouterment for PSG’s champion players who seized the Ligue 1 title last season for the first time in nine years.

The away jersey strikingly similar to the new Nike home shirt, which debuted last May for David Beckham’s last professional match. The away version is a white canvas with blue and red blocks at top and bottom, respectively, of the Fly Emirates sponsor logo. It features an embroidered Eiffel Tower-adorned club crest in red, white and blue to represent PSG’s passion, grandeur and respect, and Nike Dri-FIT technology to keep you cool and comfortable.

Three years ago, Qatar Investment Authority bought the club and immediately made PSG the richest side in France. The next summer, they spent more money on transfers than any other team in the world. Several stunning signing and two seasons later, Les Rouge-et-Bleu has made themselves germane to the UEFA Champions League title conversation.

Under the guidance of new manager Laurent Blanc, who skippered France in Euro 2012 and who played sweeper for Barcelona, Marseille, Inter Milan and Manchester United, the spending has not slowed.

This summer, the Parisians signed Brazilian teenage center back Marquinhos for $46 million. Edison Cavani, the Uruguayan hit man known as “El Matador,”came aboard via Napoli for $84 million. Lucas Digne, a 20-year-old left back starlet, made the move from Lille for $19.8 million, relative pocket change for the flush-with-cash French.

The talented trio joins the likes of Thiago Silva, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Lucas Moura, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Javier Pastore and a host of other expensive elite athletes at PSG.

With all the skill they have amassed, PSG can’t help but play at a top level. Now they’ll look great while netting goals and notching wins, too.

Whether worn at the grounds of bitter rivals Olympique de Marseille during Le Classique or at the biggest stadiums in European club soccer during UCL competition this season, this striking away shirt is sure to be worn with aplomb by players and fans alike. Why not? A mega-rich club and a classy, clean shirt; It’s like matching camembert with the perfect Bordeaux.
