Ruud van Nistelrooy is available again for selection for Holland after making peace with Oranje coach Marco van Basten.
The Real Madrid forward has had tense relations with Van Basten since last year’s World Cup, but is now available for Euro 2008 qualifying although he did not feature in Friday’s squad for friendlies with South Korea and Thailand.
Van Basten revealed that fences had been mended with 30-year-old Van Nistelrooy, saying: “A good phone conversation has made this possible.
“He’s (Van Nistelrooy) laid the basis for a return of Van Nistelrooy to the Oranje.”
Former Manchester United forward Van Nistelrooy’s 22 goals in the Primera Liga for Real Madrid this season have seen him become a leading contender to be crowned Spain’s “pichichi” (top scorer).
