Today, NIke officially unveiled the fifth iteration of the Tiempo. Spotted on various top-rung players over the past week, the Nike Tiempo Legend V is now officially available to the public, just in time for those Christmas wish lists.
First introduced in 1994, the Tiempo and the game itself have seen drastic changes in the past 20 years. Designed with the help of Carlos Tevez, Gerard Pique and Ronaldinho, the new Tiempo Legend V delivers the premium craftsmanship for which the Tiempo line is known along with the technology to keep up with the fastest players of the field.
Still focused on touch and 90 minutes of comfort, the Tiempo Legend V creates a second skin fit while eliminating the water absorption problem traditionally associated with natural leather soccer cleats.
Thanks to Nike’s ACC (All Conditions Control) and Nike’s new Hypershield technology, the upper of the Nike Legend V blocks moisture, keeping the cleat light and ensuring consistent touch and control no matter the weather.
The upper on this new version of the Tiempo is also backed by a layer of hydrophobic mesh, which cleat geeks will recognize from the Hypervenom. This mesh backing keeps weight to a minimum and ensures that the boot dries quickly.
The outsole on the Nike Tiempo Legend V has also been updated. Nike has made the heel and forefoot studs wider for more ground contact and enhanced stability. The conical studs at the forefoot offer traction during changes of direction.
So far the Nike Tiempo Legend V has been spotted on this impressive roster during UEFA Champions League play:
|Kevin Prince-Boateng (Schalke)||Ashley Cole (Chelsea)||Gerard Pique (Barcelona)||Carlos Tevez (Juventus)|
|Sulley Muntari (AC Milan)||Ramires (Chelsea)||Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)||Jerome Boateng (Bayern Munich)|
|Luisao Silva (Benfica)||Joleon Lescott (Man City)||Semih Kaya (Galatasaray)||Jonas Hofmann (Dortmund)|
