Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure has claimed Ivory Coast team-mate Didier Drogba has told him he would like to move to the Nou Camp.

Drogba’s future at Chelsea has been the subject of conjecture since Jose Mourinho’s departure from Stamford Bridge.

The former Marseille star has previously indicated he could leave Chelsea at the end of the season, and Toure says he spoke to Drogba about a potential move to Barcelona while they were at the African Nations Cup.

“Of course, we talked about Barcelona,” Toure told Ona FM. “Didier Drogba is a very important player in my country, but he costs a lot of money.

“He would really like to play for Barca because we have a great team and have great players.

“Drogba told me that he would like to come and play with me, but he knows that it is complicated as Eto’o, Henry and Messi are already there.”

Italian giants AC Milan are also thought to be tracking Drogba and could move for him if he decides to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
