FALLS APART, NOT DURABLE - Jul 17, 2014
Parent: Frustrated Dad (Chicago)

Son is U17 player. He liked the shoes, but felt traction was poor in wet conditions. He loved the feel and touch on ball. However, shoes completely fell apart after 9 months. DEFINITELY not worth the cost as you will be buying new shoes in a couple months.

NIKE HYPERVENOM PHANTOM FG/FLASH LIME/WHITE/BLACK - Sep 13, 2013
Parent: ANDREA (TRAVERSE CITY, MI)

MY SON WAS VERY EXCITED ABOUT TRYING OUT THESE NEW SHOES BUT AFTER 3 WEEKS THE TOE SEPARATED AT THE TOP AND THE INSIDE OF HIS LEFT SHOW RIPPED OUT. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED AS THESE ARE A VERY EXPENSIVE SHOE. I DID HOWEVER CALL SOCCER.COM AND THEY ARE LETTING US RETURN THEM. SO WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW PAIR OF CLEATS. IT IS A BUMMER AS THESE ARE A GREAT PAIR OF SHOES BUT THE QUALITY IS NO THERE.

Very Nice & Comfortable - Aug 31, 2013
Player: Jordan Gil (Long Branch, NJ USA)

I decided to switch to these having worn the Predator LZs before. They are very light and comfortable cleats and haven't had a problem with blisters. I've already played with them on hard dirt surfaces, turf, grass and muddy wet grass areas and have not had a problem. With this new NIKESKIN material the feel on the ball is amazing but the only overall downside to the cleat is due to how thin the cleat is it doesn't offer much protection so be careful not to get stepped on. As for sizing I normally wear shoes 8.5 and for the hypervenoms I decided to get a size 9.5 which is a very good fit .

WASTE OF MONEY HORRIBLE DURABILITY - Aug 29, 2013
Player: Anonymous

Great cleats but not at all durable. Bought these as my main cleat for my college season and three practices into preseason and the cleats are falling apart. Never wore these for anything other than training on the field. These were a significant amount of money to spend on cleats coming to almost $250 with customization and they are almost useless with the sole already ripping off and the synthetic tearing. DO NOT GET THESE CLEATS UNLESS YOU WANT TO THROW MONEY AWAY.

A little overrated - Aug 01, 2013
Player: Mark D (Saint Paul, MN)

I was very hyped when I purchased the Hypervenom after the CONFED Cup, the marketing and Neymar perfomance had me convinced that I needed these cleats. The features really are incredible and totally unique. It was very unlike any cleat I had ever worn. The NIke Skin wraps nicely around your foot and they do feel very comfortable right out of the box. However, I think they run a half size too big, as well as pretty wide by the toes. Additionally, mine stretched out after a few games, and feel more like a 10 than a 9.5. Also, they hold LOTS of sweat, my last cleats were the Nike CTR 360 Maestri II and I never had problems with them being soaked multiple days after a game, however with the Hypervenoms, they were still wet from sweat up to a week after my games. Finally, the little tab in the center of the laces that features the ACC logo, ripped off after my third game simply from pulling the laces tightly. For $225.00 I would expect my shoes not to rip from natural wear after that short of a time. Overall I think these cleats are good, but not great, I have since switched back to the new Nike CTR360 Maestri III which is a superior boot in my opinion. It is much more durable, and COMFORTABLE for a slightly lower price point than the Hypervenoms.

The best in the game. - Jul 20, 2013
Player: Dalton

These boots are amazing. I am a former Vapor wearer, who had recently made the switch to Legends. To me these boots are the perfect combination of both. These boots provide the agility of a Vapor, with the touch and control of a Legend. The stud pattern/system also allows for exceptional under the foot ball control from a firm ground cleat. The NikeSkin upper fits like a true second skin. Get these boots as tight as possible. I had previously been a 10 in Vapors/Legends, but squeezed into a 9.5 in Phantoms. These boots almost require you to wear as thin of a sock as possible to fully utilize the NikeSkin. I wore these boots straight out of the box into a game, and had no blistering. The NikeSkin is like no other material, so there is a slight learning curve to understanding its touch. Once you obtain a feel for the upper, you can really see its advantages. I have had the chance to wear the boots in inclement weather as well, and the ACC even seems enhanced on this material. To me these boots are 6 stars.
