good for youth - Aug 01, 2010
Coach: Coach B (AZ USA)

I purchased this to help my keepers and throw ins. The only thing that would make it better is if it felt more like a soccer ball instead of a basketball.

Great for Keeper training - Jun 03, 2010
Coach: Keeper coach (Cupertino, CA)

I use the 2 and 4 lb balls for all sorts of keeper training. #1 brain dead use is to increase strength and hence distance for sling throws. Warm up with the 2 lb then go to the 4 lb, then finally back to your regular ball size. Results are amazing. Second easy use is to train for cushioning catches. Throw ball again 2lb and then 4lb once keeper is warmed up working on Contour Catches. Because of the add weight a static stop is difficult. Teaches keepers to reach and cushion, something they need for hard shots. Hence you can work on the Power of a hard shot without the Speed. Finally, diving and bouncing saves are way more difficult to control with a heavier ball. Again this works on controlling a powerful shot without the Speed. BTW, the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that first 2lb ball I received was defective but didn't fail within the normal return window.

Good training tool - Sep 22, 2009
Coach: Coach Doug (Pittsburgh, PA)

As the coach of a U10 girls travel team, I was looking for a good training tool to help my team with throw-ins. My team uses these at every practice. We went from being average at throw-ins to perhaps the best team in our league when it comes to throw-ins. It is also a great training tool for goalies.

Medicine Ball #2 - Aug 14, 2008
Coach: Coach David (Chesapeake, VA)

These have become a reward during practice. My U12 girls love lining up and tossing this as their warmup. They are amazed how far they can throw their game ball after just a few tosses. Quality is good. Also used for goalie tosses. Good Buy.

Great tool - Nov 13, 2007
Coach: Ramin (Beaverton, OR USA)

This has been a great product for my team. it has enabled the kids to strengthen their throw ins as we practice with the 4lbs, then to 2 lbs, and then to a regular ball. you can see a big difference in the distance as they are graduating to the regular size/weight ball.
