ASICS are underrated but HIGHLY Recommended - Jun 02, 2013
Coach: CJB (Tampa, FL)

Son was having heel/knee problems with Adidas shoes that offer very little cushion and support. Read about ASICS and thought we would give them a try. The heel and knee problems disappeared! Amazing. Briefly switched back to Adidas and the heel problems returned. So bought a second pair of ASICS - Lethal Stats. Two pairs of ASICS - two excellent, well-constructed shoes. The material used for the cleats does not wear down. The upper materials show no signs of deterioration despite being my son playing 5 days per week from August through June. Would HIGHLY recommend ASICS despite them not being a top brand name in soccer.

I play rugby. - Nov 29, 2012
Player: Macca Dread (Gainesville, FL USA)

I have been an adidas fan for several years- still am...for the most part. I have used both the Copas and the Predators for both futbol and rugby. adidas is awesome! However, I am somewhat disappointed with the latest version of the Predators. Not dissing it...just saying, I wasn't feeling it quite as much. So a fellow rugby player suggested that I check out the Asics brand. I was hesitant but at this price point $~60, I figured it won't hurt to try. I still have the predecessor to this year's Predators- albeit via an awesome tape job keeping the upper from separating from the sole. So if all else fails, I can go back to that. Heck! van Persie is still wearing last year's Predators. But I digress. I had to return the first Asics Flash because it was too small by a half size. I usually wear 9.5 in adidas but had to go one half size up for this one. The LENGTH of the shoe was okay but the WIDTH was just too tight/narrow. I have wide feet. So gauge accordingly. Either way, Eurosport has an awesome returns policy- try the cleats indoors etc. For starters, I like the look and feel of these Asics. Usually not a flashy/colored cleats kind of guy but I must say that the blue, glossy look is certainly unique read: attractive. I haven't had the pleasure of running/sprinting/kicking in them yet but plan to do so tonight at training. The raised heel thing? Like most 'shoe technologies', it'll probably be more of a mental thing. But who knows? It may surprise me. The cleat itself feels sturdy and snug. It's not kangaroo leather, so probably won't stretch as much. That's all I have so far. Will let you guys know more after I introduce these bad boys to the wonderfully rough game of rugby! Cheers. 5 stars for now until I test them.
