Unnecessary, but Quality - Oct 20, 2013
Player: Parker (Chicago, IL)

I ordered a pair of mediums, and compared them to my Nike Mercurial Lites, which they sell a billion different colors of on Eurosport. The medium Mercurial Blades weighed in at 71 grams per shinguard, while the medium Mercurial Lites were 64 grams. So the fiberglass actually adds weight, but that's a weight difference of 7 paper clipsnot noticeable whatsoever. However, what you can notice is that the Blades are about 1/3 to 1/4 slimmer than the Lites at different sections of the shinguard, and are definitely more stable and stronger. I've judged this from looking at the way the shinguard plate and foam padding are fused together, and from taking hits to the shins on the field. One other side note, on some other websites, it is stated that these shinguards come with a sleek fiberglass case. These did not. They came in a regular black vinyl netting bag like most Nike shinguards and goalie gloves come in. Overall, this is a quality product, but honestly the Lites got the job done for me for the last 4 years. If you have the money to blow, why not have the best protection, but they're far from necessary to play, enjoy and be safe in soccer.

Amazing Quality, Should have ordered a bigger size - Apr 03, 2013
Player: Anonymous (Ontario, Canada)

The Large shin guards run up to 5'11 but I'm a 5'11 male with muscular legs and would have preferred an XL. I'm a full-back and prefer a shin guard with more coverage, so I should have ordered the next size up seeing that I was at the end of the height range for this product. But no XL's available. Excellent if you're looking for a comfortable, slim and durable shin guard, but not the best for full coverage on long legs.
