When the world’s greatest players walked onto the world’s stage in 1994, more than half of them were wearing one shoe – the adidas Copa Mundial. Introduced in 1979, the Copa Mundial has been a fixture on soccer fields at every level for over 30 years. The timeless Copa has been spotted on the feet of many legends of the game – Franz Beckenbauer, Oliver Kahn, Diego Maradona, Kaka, Xabi Alonso, Zinedine Zindane and Gareth Bale.
Soccer shoe technology is constantly evolving in the quest for lighter, faster, better – but the classic Copa has remained virtually unchanged. Earlier this year to much fanfare, adidas released the very first alternate color option of the Copa Mundial. The all white version with black three stripes was instantly embraced by players around the globe.
Still made in Germany, the white Copa has the same soft kangaroo leather upper, the same reinforced heel panel and the same twelve-stud outsole design that players have trusted and chosen for generations.
