Algeria earned the final African qualifying spot in next summer’s World Cup finals in South Africa with their 1-0 win over Egypt. Antar Yahia hit a great volley five minutes before the halftime break for the difference.
The game was played to a capacity crowd filled the Khartoum Stadium in Sudan with 5,000 more fans eager to get in to see the match. The match was played in Sudan after incidents over player safety came up in the last match in Egypt.
The back-and-forth match saw each team create chances with Algeria narrowly edging out the Pharoahs.
