The defending Confederations Cup champions are ready to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in style, thanks to Nike.
This bold yellow jersey is as much a soccer shirt as it is a symbol of national passion and pride.
Brazil’s 2014 home jersey features an updated crest. It is slightly larger than previous crests and features a golden metallic weave for a subtle shimmering effect.
Nike’s designers used 3D body scans of elite players to determine the best fit for modern athletes, which yielded an updated, more comfortable fit. The new Y-shaped neckline provides a relaxed vibe that is distinctly Brazil; the Canarinho look great, but they came to play.
Inside the jersey, behind the crest, is the phrase “Nascido para jogar futebol”, “Born To Play Football”. Nike also enlisted Brazilian artist Bruno Big (who, along with 57 other iconic Brazilians, was photographed wearing the jersey) to design a mark of national pride inside the jersey; a small canary, representing Brazil’s nickname, the Canarinho, when they wear yellow.
Nike’s signature Dri-Fit technology pulls moisture away from the skin to keep players at peak performance throughout the match. The authentic jersey (the ones the players will wear on the field) features laser-cut ventilation on the sides for an even lighter weight and better breathability. It is made with a dual-knit cotton/polyester blend that provides improving moisture-wicking properties and an improved fit and feel.
