Samuel Eto’o has warned Barcelona he will seek pastures new if they fail to make an improved challenge for silverware next season.
Saturday’s goalless draw against Espanyol has all but ended Barca’s hopes of winning the Primera Liga title while they need to get past in-form Manchester United if they are to reach the Champions League final.
Should they fail in both those objectives then it will be a second successive season without a major trophy for the Catalan giants, and Eto’o admits he will look to leave if things do not change next season, with a different country looking his likely destination.
“At Barcelona and in Spain I have reached the top,” Eto’o was quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper Marca.
“If next year we continue the same without winning titles here, I will have to go to another place because what I want is to win titles.”
