Wayne Rooney came off the bench to score a brace as Manchester United beat Gamba Osaka 5-3 to book their place in the Club World Cup final.
United went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead after Nemanja Vidic and Cristiano Ronaldo both headed the Red Devils ahead.
And Rooney’s introduction led to a frenetic period which saw six goals in 18 minutes, with the England international netting either side of Darren Fletcher’s strike as the Premier League champions kept a resistant Gamba at bay.
Osaka’s goals came through Masato Yamazaki, Yasuhito Endo’s spot-kick and Hideo Hashimoto.
