Created for the Nike-sponsored national teams, the Ordem is Nike’s most technologically advanced ball to date.
Bold and bright, the design of the Ordem honors 2014’s host country Brazil and features Nike’s RaDaR (Rapid Decision and Response)technology. This graphic design ensures that the Ordem is easy to see from all angles and stands out in a player’s peripheral vision.
The Ordem is made up of 12 fuse-welded panels with a textured treatment, a three-layer casing system, and a poly-blend wrapped, free-floating carbon latex bladder. This fused construction ensures the Ordem is perfectly round for excellent control and true flight. According to Nike, the Aerow Trac grooves around the Ordem’s cover are “engineered to grip and channel the air to produce the truest trajectory and most consistent flight, which help ensure stability and accuracy in mid-air”
The Nike Ordem will be used by all Nike-sponsored national teams, including 10 of the teams headed to Brazil.
Nike premiered the Ordem in a tongue-in-cheek, cross-sport video called “Straight Down the Middle” that features Wayne Rooney, golf superstar Rory McIlroy and a cameo from Brazilian legend Ronaldo.
The Nike Ordem match ball will be available for purchase on SOCCER.COM on Dec. 5.
